POSE Running Clinics are the most sought after technique based running clinic in the world. Pose Running Clinics were first introduced to the general public in the mid 90′s, at that point, they were conducted exclusively and solely by Dr. Nicholas Romanov. After receiving his Ph.D. in Physical Education from Russian Academy of Physical Culture and Sports in Moscow, Dr. Romanov advanced to become the Head of the Department of Sport Disciplines, Head Track and Field Coach, and senior lecturer of Sport Biomechanics, Theory and Practice of Physical Education and Sport Training, Theory and Practice of Track and Field.
In early 2000 the Romanov’s traveled to the west coast of the United States for the first time. Bernard and Gina Baski took the clinic and were amongst the first certified Pose coaches in the world. For both of them the clinic was transformational, not only did they become faster runners with less training, they were free from injury which is what holds most runners back from achieving their true running potential.
The objective of the Pose clinic is to teach participants proper technique, this is based on the most efficient method for energy transfer, and forward movement, to eliminate injuries and maximize running speed. According to Dr. Romanov, 99% of clinics’ attendees experience positive changes immediately. All participants will receive a pre video running analysis and a post video running analysis, this will give coaches the opportunity to visually point out flaws in running technique.
This clinic will include theory and methodology lectures before and after the run with video tape analysis, but there will be practical application so please be prepared to run. Some essentials to bring are: comfortable running shoes, water, warm clothes for before and after running, and a large towel to sit on the grass. We will break at noon for an hour so please bring lunch or there are several small places to grab a quick bite.
