TriFit Mini Triathlons

What is a TRIFIT mini-triathlon? It’s a:

  1. 500 meter swim at the TriFit Club & Studios pool.
  2. a challenging 60 minutes indoor cycling class, and
  3. depending on the course, a 3 to 5 mile run.

If you haven’t been to a TriFit Club & Studios mini-triathlon, you haven’t had fun.  Whether you are new to the sport and this is your first shot at a triathlon or you are a seasoned Ironman veteran, come enjoy the workout.

There is always have lots of food, water, exercise drinks, energy bars, SWAG and PRIZES.  These include great products and services supplied by local merchants and TriIFit Club & Studios. Everything from aerobars, clothing and recovery drinks to TRIFIT massages, products and gift certificates.

Keep an eye on the TRIFIT Multisport calendar or home page “upcoming events."  Remember, TRIFIT Multisport members always receive discounts for the mini-triathlons.

Duathlons & Aquathlons

Duathlons

If you are not a swimmer, or just feel uncomfortable in open waters, try a duathlon.  Typically contested in run-bike-run formats, duathlons vary in length and run-bike-run combinations. Common distances for duathlonare:

  • 2-mile run/10-mile bike/2-mile run
  • 5k run/30k bike/5k run
  • 10k run/40k bike/5k run (International or short course)
  • 10k run/60k bike/10k run (Powerman or long course)

Aquathlons & Aquabikes

Like duathlon, aquathlons and aquabikes involve only two of the three triathlon disciplines.  A typical aquathlon is a run/swim/run combination; however it is not uncommon to see a two-stage race which is simply a swim/run. Read More Less well know, although growing in popularity is the aquabike.  Typically a swim/bike combination, it is a great event for those who do not want to run or just don’t have the knees for it anymore.  Again, distances vary with the most popular being:
  • 1500k swim and 40k bike
  • 1.2 mile swim and 56 mile bike, and
  • 2.4 mile swim and 112 mile bike

An Aquathlon is held as part of the Vineman series in Sonoma, California every year.

Typical triathlon distances include:

  • SPRINT: 750 meter swim, 20k bike & 5k run

And just to make sure that we stay in the forefront of multisport and multisport training, testing and education, TRIFIT Multisport & TriFit Club & Studio is working with USA Triathlon to be one their certified testing and training centers.  This will put TriFit Club & Studio on a par with the elite training centers in the world, including the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado.
